More About Mary
Hello! My name is Mary Bartido! I am excited to get to know you and your story. I am an LPC, and I started The Shared Self LLC in March 2025. I am happy to create and share a space where you can feel safe to express, share, and grow.
My Story
I have been a therapist for 5+ years, and I am continuing to grow in this profession. I became a therapist because I felt as a teen that I needed a safe person and space to share and listen. I wanted to become a support system that I and others may not have. I have enjoyed continued time as a therapist seeing, hearing, and experiencing so many life stories.
I have and continue to enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults. When I have worked with these individuals, I noticed many face concerns with being neurospicy, anxiety, and trauma. I love being able to dive into these topics and more with my clients. It's amazing to see the growth, honesty, and vulnerability that I get to share with my clients.
My approach to therapy is very come as you are. I encourage authenticity with my clients. This means if you want to rant about why your favorite tv show should have been renewed for another season, then let's talk about it. I want to know your world and truth. I do that by asking many questions and pausing during discussion. I will sprinkle in other approaches like narrative, parts work, mindfulness based skills, and EMDR. By being my authentic self, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for any client to share.

Meet The Emotional Support Team
Here's the team that may be also supporting you in your mental health journey!
Meet Chi (Kai)
This is Chi pronounced Kai! He's a sweet dusty boy. You may not see or meet him since he's an old man that likes to stay at home, but you may hear or see him in a telehealth session. He's a great emotional support with his big purrs.

Meet Nori
This is Nori! He is a playful little boy who has the energy to power the whole office and more. You may see him in office here and there; hopefully, after training he can come in person all the time. You will definitely hear him in telehealth session usually yelling at his big brother. He's a great support with all his happy energy.
Even if Chi and Nori are not directly present in your mental health journey, just know they help me to be a better therapist for you.
If you are not comfortable having animals present or are allergic during in person sessions, let me know and will be happy to accommodate your needs.
